THE BIKE RIDE IS BIG SUCCESS!

Spring arrived in time for the third HHDBA-led Bike Ride on Sunday 21st April. Lots of members rode, more were registering and marshalling so a big thank you to all of you!
It was a brilliant community event with over 900 riders and hundreds of family, friends and supporters making the Broadway one big party. The totting up has begun to see how many defibrillators can be purchased with the proceeds.
STRICTLY COME GARDENING 27TH APRIL

Don’t miss Strictly Come Gardening on 27th April in the Orchards. The Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex, and the High Sheriff, will open the event, which is full of ideas for enjoying everything about gardening.
An expert panel, led by BBC Sussex’s Jean Griffin, will be dispensing gardening tips, the Strictly Schools Challenge painting competition will be judged, there will be displays by Mid Sussex’s famous gardens, stalls from nurseries and plant societies and a flower arranging master class. In the afternoon there will also be entertainment from local schools and choirs as well as food and drink from The Paella Fella and our own Grape & Grain! It’s on from 10.00 am until 3.30pm and it’s FREE!
GET RUNNING IN THE SUSSEX LIVING MID SUSSEX MARATHON

May 5th to the 7th is the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend; runs take place in East Grinstead on 5th, in Haywards Heath on 6th May and in Burgess Hill on 7th May, the three races adding up to the Marathon distance.

EGBA RETURN ‘US VERSUS THEM’ QUIz

Round Three of the inter association Quiz contest takes place on Tuesday 4th June at the Rose & Crown in East Grinstead at 7.30 pm. HHDBA teams won both the opening rounds and so, if honour is to be safeguarded at all costs, we need your (very clever) brains to make it three in a row!

ACTION MEDICAL RESEARCH CHARITY GOLF DAY

Action Medical Research provides research funding into medical science to the benefit of babies, children and young people. With mentor Peter James, the author of the Roy Grace crime novels, they arrange an annual Charity Golf Day this year on Wednesday 11 September 2013.at Haywards Heath.
They would particularly like to invite local business to join this event, raising money for a very worthwhile cause. The event costs £250 for a team of four and includes coffee and bacon roll on arrival and running buffet following the golf round; there is over £1,000 in prizes to be won, with a maximum of 32 teams taking part.
