Mike Oliver of Mike Oliver Associates will be back on his bike next week for this year’s Brussels2Brighton Bike Ride.

The Independent Financial Adviser is set to take part in the cycling event from Thursday, which will see more than 40 bikers pedal across the Channel to raise funds for the Mayor’s charities.

This year, their efforts will include a jaw-dropping Guinness World Record attempt, with cyclists completing a ‘Mile in the Sky’ by riding around the Brighton i360 as it climbs to 450ft.

Mike is also sponsoring the challenging ‘Hill Climb’, where brave bikers must overcome a 600m cobbled hill in Koppenberg, which stands at a gruelling 22% gradient in its trickiest places, in order to earn a sought-after medal.

In Brussels, the team will visit to the EU Parliament for a private tour and meeting with South East MEP Keith Taylor.

“Every year, the Brighton bike ride raises much needed funds for great causes and we’re thrilled to be sponsoring the Hill Climb,” said Mike Oliver. “It’s a steep climb but when you reach the top, you’re immediately reminded that it pays to persevere. I’m really looking forward to taking part, and wish all participants the best of luck.”

Mike’s sponsorship of the event continues his passion for mixing his cycling hobby with charity fundraising. The IFA sponsored the Great Haywards Heath Bike Ride earlier this month and also took part in last year’s Paris2Brighton event. A keen sports enthusiast, the IFA also lent support to this year’s Haywards Heath Swimarathon.

Albion in the Community, The Clock Tower Sanctuary, Martlets Hospice, Rise and the Sussex Heart Charity will all benefit from the cycling campaign. The Brussels2Brighton Bike Ride kicks off on Thursday 3 May before finishing in Brighton on Sunday 6 May.
