Local schoolteacher Sally Turner is looking for sponsorship after qualifying for a cycling world championship in France this summer.

Sally, from Warden Park Academy, competed in Glasgow recently, missing out on gold by just six seconds to qualify as silver medallist for the event in Albi in August.

Speaking of her achievement, she said: “I am now looking for funding to go to south of France to represent Great Britain. In order to give myself the best chance I am looking at getting a new disc wheel for about £1500 and all competitors have to pay their travel and accommodation, which will cost me around £1,000. Any donations or sponsorship I could get would be an amazing boost for me and Great Britain’s chances of doing well.”

Sally can be contacted at sturner@wardenpark.co.uk for further information on sponsorship and what businesses can expect in return.
