September is here! That gorgeous feeling of new adventures, fresh starts and renewed energy is in the air, and I for one can’t help but get carried away with it. I guess it goes back to school days, but I always like to start a new project at this time of year, even if nowadays I don’t get as much time to finish it!

Our ever-popular Education Feature starts on page 23, and consists of two really interesting features to enjoy. Robert Veitch learned all about the world of CSI at Haywards Heath Police Station, and Sasha Kanal took a look at after school clubs.

Talking about her school days, Katie Derham settled down with Lisa de Silva for a good chat, which you can read about from page 35. A true Renaissance woman of the 21st Century, Katie has carved out a highly successful media career, along with maintaining a fulfilling home life bringing up her two daughters and sometimes even finding time to make some jam! Living in Mid Sussex with her family, Katie is very involved with the local community, being patron of St Peter & St James Hospice and President of the Burgess Hill Symphony Orchestra.

And finally, we are very sad to say goodbye to Sonya, who has decided to retire. Sonya is very well known in the area, having sold advertising in Mid Sussex since 1998, and been with Sussex Living for the last 7 ½ years. She will be greatly missed by us all, and I’m sure all of her clients as well, but we know Sonya will love enjoying more leisure time with her husband. Keep in touch Sonya!
