Thank you for picking up the April issue of Sussex Living Magazine.

The sight of spring lambs frolicking through the fields is enough to bring joy to everyone’s heart – I hope you like the little fellow on the front cover! In this issue Ruth Lawrence visited local farmer Donald Blake at his farm in Hurstpierpoint (p.69) where she heard the story of his farming life – a good life indeed.

With another busy month behind us, we have a full and exciting issue for you. We celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday by taking a look at her many visits to Mid Sussex (p.6), and make sure you check your local town information to see if they have any celebrations in store.

We get your home and garden spick and span with our spring cleaning feature starting on page 22, with handy tips and tricks from Lisa de Silva. As a double whammy turn to page 62 where you can see how to get the most health benefits out of your cleaning, with our new monthly fitness feature, Body Buzz. Who knew cleaning could be so worthwhile?!

This April is National Mills Weekend on the 14th and 15th. From page 29 you can read about the mills and windmills in Mid Sussex which will be open to visit, although there are many more open all over the country which you can find on their website, www.nationalmillsweekend.co.uk

With the warmer weather many gardens are opening for the NGS Open Garden season, and we visited Banks Farm in Balcombe (p.34). There are many to visit and they make a wonderful day out for keen gardeners and nature lovers, and all raise money for charity.

We wish all our readers and advertisers a happy April, and we will see you here next month!
