Bike Ride in police firing line….
but only because the Police & Crime Commissioner is taking the starting gun in 2016!
Sussex Police & Commissioner, (PCC) Katy Bourne, will join the CEO of Princess Royal Hospital, Amanda Fardero, and Town Mayor, Sujan Wickremaratchi, to fire the starting gun for the Greater Haywards Heath Bike Ride 2016 on Sunday 10th April.
“It’s such great news that all the money this year will be going to our Maternity Unit at PRH,†says Mrs Bourne. “The Team work so hard to support our local people and the annual Bike Ride is very much a highlight of the social diary too, as everyone has such fun!â€
Once again, there will be four routes (from the Wiggins Way at 73.5 miles to the Sergison at 12 miles) and all riders will be ‘chipped’, so they can boast about their times to family and friends! All will return to cheers and a special commemorative medal – as well as a choice of massage for those in need! A special T-Shirt is also available for a few pence, which riders can wear with pride, having been a part of something special. So if you haven’t already, please go to www.hhbikeride.co.uk or call the Town Hall on 01444 455 694 to register.
Meanwhile, those not riding can still be part of the fun. If you can help with registration or marshalling for a couple of hours, you’ll be joining a great team, as well as receiving a free T-Shirt and bacon butty. If you’re interested, please contact Ruth de Mierre on 01444 453399 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’d also like to thank our sponsors who have once again been so generous with their support: 1st CENTRAL, The Orchards Shopping Centre, Nuffield Hospital, Masters & Son and the Collinson Group. Chairman, Mike Oliver, is delighted that so many local companies have got behind this annual community event: “Not only do our businesses sponsor us, but they field big teams of riders and helpers on the day; it’s a great example of the whole community coming together to make a difference – and have some fun, of course!â€
