Making a Will is the single most important thing we can do to make sure the people and causes we care about will be taken care of  in the future. St Peter & St James Hospice is launching a new Will Writing Scheme , offering the opportunity to do just that. Bookings can be made with the participating solicitors from 1 March onwards for appointments during a 3-week period from Monday 11 April – Friday 29 April

The Hospice is offering its new Will Writing service with support from 12 Sussex-based companies which are generously offering their time and expertise free of charge to help clients make or update their Wills, in lieu of a donation to the Hospice. Only a limited number of appointments are available, so everyone is encouraged to book as early as possible in March to avoid disappointment.

Susan Gilbert, who participated in the scheme last year, said, “The forms we received prior to the appointment were ideal and really made us think about things. It made the appointment very efficient and we could talk about how the process worked rather than hunting about for information. Job done!  As we’ve been putting it off for 20 years we are so grateful to have had your Will writing scheme as an incentive to get our Wills done.”

Last year, donations from this Scheme raised over £9,000 which is more than enough to pay for the Hospice’s entire care costs for a day – including all its inpatient care, community care and support and wellbeing services. The donations the Hospice receives through the scheme make a real difference to the daily delivery of its care . There is absolutely no obligation to leave a gift in a Will to the Hospice as part of the Scheme but those who do, help pay for the care of one in four of Hospice patients each year.
