St Peter & St James Hospice is looking for local primary schools and groups to hold a Reindeer Race, in aid of the Hospice, in the run up to Christmas.
This year is the Hospice’s 40th Anniversary and to help mark this special milestone it would like local primary schools and groups (such as Rainbows, Beavers, Brownies, Scouts and so on) to don reindeer antlers and hold a race on their school field or village hall, in either November or December. The school or group can choose the date and time to hold the Reindeer Race and decide how far and where it will be. Pupils or children involved in the race pay £2 to take part in the fun run and will be encouraged to raise sponsorship money.
“This is a wonderful way for local children to enjoy some festive fun and help support their local Hospice at the same time,” said Eleanor Gloster, Events and Community Manager. “While we can’t bring real reindeer into schools, we know that kids will enjoy dressing up in their reindeer antlers and getting a festive treat for taking part.”
All the schools and groups taking part will be thanked on the Hospice’s website/social media and a member of the Fundraising Team will come along to the event providing support on the day. As well as this, fundraising support will be given for each event with posters, red starter ribbons, collection buckets, reindeer antlers and a festive treat for all the children involved.
To take part, please call Eleanor Gloster on 01444 470208 or email [email protected] Closing date – Friday 23 October 2015.
