Ensemble Reza are excited to be making their debut performance at the Hurst Festival. Come and join us for a wonderful evening of music featuring Dvorak’s String Sextet in A major Op.48 and Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence. Both pieces are an exciting ‘tour de force’ combining rich and beautiful melodies with colourful folk tunes.
Feedback from our previous concerts:
‘They are in a league of their own, absolutely thrilling … Their music sounds so spontaneous as if improvised and is also such a delight to watch with their frequent exchanges and obvious enjoyment’ A Turrall
‘It was a wonderful concert and a real privilege to hear such outstanding music on our doorstep.’ J Harrison
‘This wouldn’t be my first choice of musical styles to be honest but I was so gripped I will definitely plan to see them again.’ K Dobson
Ten Pieces Education Project for the Autumn – calling all musicians!
We are thrilled to be working with partners West Sussex Music and the Burgess Hill Symphony Orchestra on a very exciting education and community project this Autumn.
The BBC Ten Pieces programme aims to open up the world of classical music to young people. We plan to develop this initiative by inviting adults to get involved as well!
Working with 7 local schools we will be running composition workshops for students to create their own musical response to the Ten Pieces. These pieces will be performed by students at the Ten Pieces Festival Concert on Thursday 26th November at The King’s Church from 7pm.
Together with Burgess Hill Symphony Orchestra we also plan to set up a Ten Pieces Community Orchestra for all ages and abilities. This orchestra will learn some of the Ten Pieces repertoire (arranged for players of all abilities) and perform these pieces at the Festival Concert. Players will benefit from the expertise of Ensemble Reza and have the opportunity to play alongside these professionals as well as members of BHSO. This is a great opportunity to dust off your instrument and perform with your friends and family!
The Community Orchestra rehearsals will take place on:
- Sunday 18th October: 11.30-4.30pm at Holy Trinity Church, Cuckfield
- Sunday 22nd November: 2-5pm at Holy Trinity Church, Cuckfield
- Tuesday 24th November: 7-9.30pm at The King’s Church, Burgess Hill
- Thursday 26th November: 5pm-6.30pm at the King’s Church
To take part in this unique project or for further information please contact [email protected] . Places will cost: £20 for adults and £10 for children (under the age of 18).
