The Haywards Heath and District Business Association (HHDBA) committee and its members are deeply saddened by the loss of John de Mierre who was Chair of HHDBA from July 2009 to July 2011. John’s commitment to HHDBA was amazing his energy and sage council will be greatly missed.
Maureen Scholefield Chair of HHDBA said “I was fortunate to meet John when my company moved into Haywards Heath. I was then truly fortunate to work with him as a part of a group of dedicated people who breathed life back into the HHDBA. His leadership and stewardship of HHDBA in those early days was invaluable. I will personally miss his great sense of humour and wise counsel.”
John made his mark with new committee members Neil Tomlinson of Aquapax who said “John as a man of comprehensive integrity with an admirable work ethic and a good sense of humour. His considered opinions will be missed.”
The same themes come from the views of an established committee member Stephen Hillier said “As someone who gave so much of himself to serving the residents and business community of Haywards Heath, John was one of a rare breed that endeared himself to everyone he worked with and inspired them to work together to achieve their aims. I shall miss him as a friend and fellow councillor who always had wisdom and a sense of fun to share”
